Abstract In this paper a generalization of direct design of different types of recursive digital filters is proposed. This method allows that the coeficients of the polynomials containing the poles of transfer function to be determined in closed form, directly in digital domain. These filters can not be obtained using transforms from continuous domain. Cutoff slopes of these filters has been also investigated.
