A METHOD FOR SPACE-FREQUENCY IMAGE ANALYSIS

An efficient method for two-dimensional time-frequency analysis, derived from the analysis of the Wigner Distribution (WD) defined in the frequency domain, is presented. This method provides some substantial advantages over the WD. The well known cross-terms effects are reduced or completely removed; the oversampling of signals is shown to be unnecessary; the computation time can be significantly reduced, as well. The theory is illustrated by a numerical example.
