Modeling and Optimization of Electric Furnace Transformer Unit

Abstract: In this work the modelling and optimization of a single-phase electric furnace transformer unit is considered. First, the distribution of the magnetic fluxes is analysed, using 3D finite element analysis. Next, some possibilities for optimization of the core dimensions to diminish the maximum flux density and the power losses are shown.
