Introduction to Telecommunications offers a solid practical background in the areas of understanding, using, and installing modern computers based data communications systems. Its contents represent the current state-of-the art in the field of exploiting contemporary data communications systems.
In my opinion the main motto for writing this book was the fact than many people in industry today need to know something more about modern communications and computer networks. Most of them need to know more details of how data communications networks work, in order to make correct design decisions.
Most of available data communications and networking books are written for engineers who will design or build communications systems. From the other hand, this book does not adequately addresses the educational needs of students not it uses extensive mathematical operations for explanations communication theory and networking. In contrary, it is more practically oriented and is suitable for readers with basic knowledge in communications and networking who need to know more details about operations of modern data communications systems.
This is an interesting book. I recommend it.
