Useful Book for researchers, Graduate Students
and Practitioners

The need for control of a set of parallel and distributed processes is a consequence of the many problems associated with their management. Synchronization is a crucial problem that stands out from all those involved in controlling concurrency. This book addresses the interactions between processes that involve synchronization.

The book is timely and is well-written. The style of presentation is clear. At the end of each chapter a set of unsolved problems is given to help the students develop their skill better in using the theory and gain confidence. In addition, a Section Bibliographic Notes is accompanied to each chapter. This section is mainly intended for interested readers to pursue the subject matter further.

Synchronization Algorithms and Concurrent Programming is primarily intended for computer scientists interested in programming concurrent and distributed computer systems. The book is also intended for students in Computer Engineering and Computer Science directions at Master level or above, and for practitioners who would like to become more closely acquainted with concurrent programming.

All in all, I highly recommend this book.
