Abstract: A possibility of applying 3n-dimensional spherical codes to polarization shift keying systems is investigated. Signal point constellations are optimized in a way that maximizes the minimum Euclidean distance. The potential improvement in system performance, resulting from the increase of signal space dimensionality, is verified through simulation. The possibility of extracting signal point constellations from lattice packings is also considered.
